Reward offered in yard sign assault incident

— Whitewater police are still investigating an incident Friday where a man was assaulted over the theft of a yard sign. An anonymous reward of $500 has been offered for information leading to the arrest of suspects, according to a release from the Whitewater Police Department.

Sen. Neal Kedzie (R-Elkhorn) said his son was attacked around 2 a.m. Oct. 19 when he tried to stop two men from taking a Romney/Ryan political sign from his front yard.

According to the police department’s release, the suspects are described as two white males, clean shaven, both about six feet tall and weighing between 185-190 pounds. One suspect was identified as having short, light-colored hair, and the other had darker hair. One suspect was wearing a blue and black plaid shirt and jeans.
