Big Foot, Jefferson area playoff winners

If the WIAA Division 4 football playoff field wasn’t aware of Walworth Big Foot, the Chiefs’ opening-round performance grabbed its attention.

Big Foot built a 56-0 lead by halftime and that was the final score as the Chiefs defeated Saint John’s Northwestern Military Academy at Walworth on Friday night.

Eight Chiefs ran for a combined 278 yards, averaging 11.6 yards a touch, as the Chiefs went to 9-0.

Senior Mason Dixon led the charge with 95 yards on eight carries and four touchdowns. Dixon scored on runs of 13, 7, 16 and 1 yards to hike his season total to 30 touchdowns.

Quarterback Carter Hehr added 75 yards rushing on just four carries, including a 47-yard touchdown. Hehr also completed five of six passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and returned a punt 62 yards for another score.

Matt Ripkey and Chandler Hehr caught the scoring passes.

Big Foot limited Saint John’s to 71 total yards and had 13 tackles for losses.

Lucas Gregory scored the only Edgerton TD on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Crimson Tide trailed, 27-0, at halftime. No other details were available.

Division 3

n McFarland 34, Evansville/Albany 7—Senior running back David Arias ran for 175 yards on 27 carries and four touchdowns to lead McFarland to the Division 3 victory.

Arias scored on runs of 11, 2, 73 and 4 yards for the Spartans (6-3).

McFarland rolled to a 34-0 lead before Evansville/Albany (6-3) scored in the fourth quarter on an 18-yard pass from David Jenkins to Taylor Bochenstedt.

McFarland held Evansville/Albany running back Michael Johnson to 21 yards on 14 carries. A long touchdown run by Johnson on his team’s first play of the game was called back because of a holding penalty.

No. 4-seeded East Troy.

The visitors jumped to a

42-13 halftime lead and finished with 580 yards rushing.

Zeke Emerick led the ground barrage, gaining 318 yards on 18 carries and scoring five touchdowns on runs of 16, 30, 43, 12 and 73 yards.

Garrett Blaeske added 180 yards on 18 carries, including a 49-yard TD run.

East Troy, which lost standouts Nate Dodge and Cody Zaeske to injuries this season, managed 281 yards of offense. Brandon Matz ran 20 yards for one score, and threw a 28-yard scoring pass to Wil Iloncale.

Jefferson is 7-2, while the Trojans finished 6-3.

n DeForest 38, Fort Atkinson 14—Lucas Miller rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns and visiting No. 5-seeded DeForest used its size to control No. 4-seeded Jefferson in a first-round playoff game.

Miller scored on runs of 3 and 4 yards. Omar Reed added a 41-yard run to open the scoring.

Michael Rossing threw for both of Fort Atkinson’s touchdowns. Rossing hit Shiloh Weber for a 29-yard score, and then hit James Nachtigal for 73 yards on the Blackhawks’ first possession of the second half to cut the Norskies’ lead to 24-14.

Fort Atkinson finished 6-3.
