Following in the lead of Nike, Trek Bicycle terminated its relationship with Lance Armstrong, saying the decision was based on the conclusions in the USADA report, according to a story in Cycling News.

The Wisconsin company, which is based in Waterloo, has a plant in Whitewater.

Trek issued a statement issued late Wednesday, saying: "Trek is disappointed by the findings and conclusions in the USADA report regarding Lance Armstrong. Given the determinations of the report, Trek today is terminating our long-term relationship with Lance Armstrong. Trek will continue to support the Livestrong Foundation and its efforts to combat cancer."

Trek legal spokesman Bill Mashek said Armstrong still retains a small share of the company.

Before Armstrong, Trek had a licensing agreement with three-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond.
