'Sew' many quilts to see at Edgerton show
EDGERTON American Quilt Society certified appraiser Alexandra “Sandy” Schweitzer will be the featured speaker at the fifth annual Edgerton Quilt Show, to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Edgerton Middle School, 300 Elm High Drive, Edgerton.
Schweitzer, a quilt historian, award-winning quilt maker and teacher, will speak at 11 a.m. on “Quilt Care and More.” Schweitzer has been a featured speaker in the past at the Wisconsin Quilt Expo.
Schweitzer also will offer quilt appraisals, of quilts entered in the show and brought in for appraisal, by appointment only. To schedule an appraisal appointment, call Janette Jenson at (608) 884-3271. There is a fee for the appraisals, which take about 30 minutes.

The show will feature viewers’ choice judging, with prizes awarded for the top quilted items in three categories -- women, men and youth.
Proceeds from the annual quilt show will benefit the Edgerton Book and Film Festival, Edgerton Outreach and the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce.
To enter a quilt for display, an entry form is available online at www.edgertonchamber.com. Forms also are available by calling (608) 884-3002.
Quilts displayed at the show must be picked up after 5 p.m. on the day of the show.
