— The Lake Geneva-Genoa City UHS School District has been selected as a $10,000 winner in the Monsanto Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education. The program gives farmers the opportunity to nominate their public school district to apply for a merit-based grant to enhance math and science education.

After a three-tier grant review process, the district was selected as one of 12 winners in Wisconsin.

A check presentation ceremony will be held at halftime of the homecoming football game on Fri., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Badger High School, 220 South St., Lake Geneva.

The program has awarded a total of $190,000 to schools in the state. The Monsanto Fund will invest $2.3 million in rural education across 39 states through this program. This year, more than 61,000 farmers nominated their rural school districts to apply for this grant opportunity.
