— Registration for the Whitewater CROP Walk begins at 12:30 p.m. Sun., Oct. 7 at Fairhaven Retirement Community, 435 W. Starin Road, Whitewater. After a time of prayer and blessing, the walk will begin at 1 p.m. from Fairhaven, and will end at St. Luke’s Episcopal Parish Hall, 146 S. Church St.

Walkers should park either on Franklin Street or some other street around Fairhaven or in Starin Park, to avoid filling the Fairhaven visitor parking lot, which is reserved for visiting family members. Parking is also available in the Congregational lot on Franklin Street, which is across from St. Luke's and the walk’s endpoint.

Twenty-five percent of the funds raised for the Whitewater CROP Walk stay in the area for local food programs for those in need, and 75 percent will support Church World Service’s global hunger program in the United States and over 80 countries.

For more information, contact the Rev. Susan Bresser of Whitewater's First United Methodist Church at (262) 473-2131.
