A collection of nutcrackers will be on display at Milton College this weekend, Dec. 1-2. Terry Mayer photo.

Nutcrackers--in the form of soldiers, kings, cowboys, Packers, even long-haired hippies--will be on artful display along the stairway, halls and rooms at Main Hall, 513 College St., in Milton, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2.

The exhibit is coordinated by the Milton College Preservation Society, and the nutcrackers come from area collectors.

Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children.

Fresh-baked cookies will be available.

Besides the nutcracker exhibit, the Milton Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding its 10th annual Milton Christmas Walk on Dec. 2 from 3-7 p.m. Visitors can tour five homes decorated for the holidays.

Also part of the festivities will be "Breakfast with Santa," photo opportunities with the man in red, shopping specials at area stores and a rendition of "A Christmas Carol" by Milton High School students.

For more information, see the Milton Area Chamber of Commerce's website.

See a photo gallery exhibit of the nutcracker collection.
