UW-Rock women win in overtime at Marinette

The UW-Rock County women's basketball team worked overtime for a victory Wednesday night.

Julia Dement scored 32 points to lead the Rattlers to a 72-65 Wisconsin Collegiate Conference overtime win over UW-Marinette.

Rock County (6-3, 5-1) made six of seven free throws in overtime.

"Free throws were the difference, along with the fact that Julia Dement put the team on her back and carried it," Rock County coach Scott Lee said.

"It was a game of contrasting styles. Their height against our speed and quickness

-- Marinette 92, Rock County 71—The Rattler men fell behind by 12 at halftime and could not recover.

David Harper had 28 points for Rock County, which fell to 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.

Rock County hosts UW-Marathon on Saturday.
