ELKHORN Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the man they believe tried to enter an Elkhorn-area bank when it was closed Friday morning.
The man had a hood obscuring his face when he approached People's Bank, North Branch, W5102 County A in the town of Sugar Creek, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
The man tried to enter by the front door, "and when he found it was locked, he ran towards the Wandawega Subdivision," according to the news release.
The man was described as white, about 6 feet tall with a husky build, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt that had a white, horizontal line through the midsection, dark blue nylon running pants, black gloves and running shoes.
The same bank was robbed Aug. 24. A suspect is being prosecuted in federal court.
Anyone with information about Friday's incident is asked to call Capt. Dana Nigbor of the sheriff's office at 262-741-4421.
