Double-figure scorers spark Rattler women

A quick start lifted UW-Rock County's women's basketball team to a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference win Monday night.

The Rattlers, thanks to three playes in double figures, rolled past UW-Manitowoc, 65-44.

Rock County (4-3, 4-1) led 35-22 at half.

"Julia Dement did a nice job at point guard for us, and Cassondra Gestrich had her best game of the year," Rock County coach Scott Lee said.

"We took control of the game right away and did a great job of handling their press."

Kayce Chesebro and Gestrich had 11 points each, while Dement added 10.

Rock County plays at Oakton College (Ill.) today.

Rock County (3-5, 0-2 in the Western Division) got 21 points and nine rebounds from David Harper.

The Rattlers play at Division 2 Oakton College (Ill.) today.
