EAST TROY -- The comedy “M*A*S*H” will be presented by East Troy High School from Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11. The play is based on the book that inspired the movie and television show in 1970 and is full of the unpredictable characters you know and love, including Hawkeye, Margaret “Hotlips” Houlihan, Trapper John, Radar, Colonel Blake and many others.

“M*A*S*H” is about the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital based in South Korea. It starts when two unpredictable madcaps, Hawkeye (played by senior Gage Risen) and Duke (played by senior Dylan Jester) join the unit. They can’t be dealt with casually, however, because they are also two of the best chest surgeons in South Korea. They decide to wage a campaign to get a young Korean to the United States and entered in a good school. The thread of this effort helps tie together the pileup of comic adventures. It’s all good fun, with a little romance mixed in with dramatic moments and a genuine love of life.

The play, which is adapted by Tim Kelly, is based on the book by Richard Hooker. It is directed by Deb and Phil Williamson with student assistant Wil Alexander.
