Walworth County looking for 2013 Fairest of the Fair contestants

— An informational meeting for contestants in the 2013 Walworth County Fairest of the Fair will be held 6 p.m., Thurs., May 24, in the fair office, 411 E. Court St., Elkhorn. This round table event will provide answers to any questions contestants may have.

The event is open to females who are residents of Wisconsin for at least one year prior to entry, must reside in an adjoining count if the majority of fair-related and/or school activity participation is in Walworth County.

The competition is mean to recognize young women who have a passion for the fair and desire to share their enthusiasm with others throughout various speaking engagements and have an interest in representing the largest county fair in Wisconsin. Contestants must be 18 by Jan. 1, 2014 and no older than 25 as of Aug. 29, 2012.

The Fairest of the Fair competition will be held at the Walworth County Fair Sept. 2, 11:30 a.m. on the fairground’s Park Stage.
