Company that repairs wind turbines opens in Mukwonago

Gearbox Express, a company that remanufactures and tests gearboxes for wind turbines, has opened a 43,000-square foot facility in Mukwonago. The company hopes to eventually employ 100 workers, according to a story on mfrtech.com.

Bruce Neumiler, CEO of Gearbox Express, said the United States has more than 26,000 active wind turbines.

The company was started in part with a $3.4 million low-interest, revolving loan from the Wisconsin State Energy Program.
