EAST TROY--More than 500 men and women cyclists crossed the start-finish line, located at Church Street at the southeast corner of the East Troy Village Square, during the East Troy Cycling Classic on June 22.

Bikers participated in a half-mile criterium (short course bike race), with competitors making laps around the village square in timed races that ranged from 40 minutes to 90 minutes. The East Troy Cycling Classic was the second leg of the 11-day Tour of America’s Dairyland, which started in Shorewood on June 21. The tour is the largest competitive cycling event in the United States.

The remaining events in the tour include: Commonwealth Classic in downtown Fond du Lac June 29; ISCorp Downer Classic on Milwaukee's east side June 30, and the Madison Capital Criterium July 1. For more information, see the Tour of America's Dairyland's website, www.tourofamericasdairyland.com.
