— A two-part construction project on County Highway D in Walworth County will begin Mon., July 9, according to a news release from the Walworth County Department of Public Works.

The first part of the project, the section that runs from Wisconsin Highway 120 to the east county line, should be completed by the middle of August.

The section running from County Highway ES to Wisconsin Highway 120 will begin in the middle of August and be completed by Sept. 30.

According to the release, the project involves pulverizing the existing pavement in-place, grading and shaping the base, and paving a 12' lane and 3' gravel shoulder in each direction. Some guardrail updates will be done, as well as installation of concrete curb and gutter at intersections and in Honey Creek.

As the project progresses, updated information can be found on the Walworth County Public Works website: co.walworth.wi.us.

The road will be open to local traffic during construction, but drivers should expect delays, and an alternate route is strongly recommended.
