Home sales, prices up in McHenry County

— McHenry County’s home sales increased 27.7 percent in May from May of last year, while the median price of homes increased 4.6 percent from 2011, according to a story in the Northwest Herald.

McHenry County home sales in May totaled 327, compared to 256 homes in May of 2011, according to data from the Illinois Association of Realtors.

The median price of homes in McHenry County is $152,608, up from $145,850 last May.

Statewide, May has been the best month for homes sales since 2007.
