— Gov. Scott Walker approved a $222,685 design project for the reconstruction of the primary runway at the Eat Troy Municipal Airport, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation news release.

Andrew Trimble, airport development engineer with WisDOT said the runway’s pavement needs to be replaced due to deteriorating conditions, and repairs are no longer effective or cost efficient.

In addition to the 3,900-foot paved primary runway, the airport has a 2,400-foot turf runway.

The design project is expected to be completed this summer.

The release lists the funding breakdown for the project at $5,567 from the state of Wisconsin, $5,568 from the village of East Troy, and $211,550 from the Federal Aviation Administration.
