Volunteer for Walworth County ‘Day of Action’

— Volunteer Connection Inc. of Walworth County has teamed up with Walworth County and United Way for a Day of Action on June 21.

Volunteer opportunities for the day include:

--Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter: painting

--Elkhorn and Delavan food pantries: cleaning and painting

--SMILES: weed flower garden, paint bleachers

--Inspiration Ministries: clear brush, weed gardens

--Lakeland Health Care Center: Spa Day for residents/apply nail polish, massage hands

--Agape House: cleaning

--VIP Services: wash buses

--Community Action of Walworth County: work on outdoor grounds

--Big Foot State Park: clean up the trails

Registration begins at 8 a.m. in front of the Government Center, 100 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn, on the square downtown. Participants will receive a Day of Action T-shirt and lunch, and meet work groups. Remember to bring gloves if working on an outdoor project. Opening ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. and volunteers will start on projects at worksites by 9:30 a.m.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, but younger volunteers are welcome with an adult. To register, call (262) 723-5383 or (262) 472-9632.
