— The Fashion Bug chain of stores, including one in Delavan, could close by early 2013, according to a story in the Business Journal.

The story reports the decision to close the chain, including eight locations in southeast Wisconsin, was made by Fashion Bug’s new parent company, the New York-based Ascena Retail Group Inc. Ascena recently acquired Charming Shoppes, Inc., which owns Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant and other brands.

Fashion Bug describes its line as casual to business apparel for plus-size women. The Delavan store is located at Delavan Crossings, 2128 E. Geneva St.

In 2011, 124 Fashion Bug stores were closed. Ascena plans to close the 600 remaining stores by 2013.
