Chiefs hold off Snappers

— The Peoria Chiefs rolled to a 9-0 lead after three innings en route to a 10-6 victory Sunday over the Beloit Snappers in Midwest League baseball.

Snappers starter Matt Tomshaw (2-2) allowed nine runs on eight hits in three innings to take the loss.

Beloit had eight hits, including Kennys Vargas' two-run homer in the fourth inning.
