The 28th annual Open Benefit Horse Show and Speed Show provided plenty of action and showmanship July 21 and 22 at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn.

The show was a fundraiser for SMILES--Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills--a non-profit center for equine-assisted activities and therapies located in Darien.

A SMILES spokesperson didn't have total attendance figures for both days, but said the barn reserved for the horse show on the fairgrounds was full, as were classes for the events.

Slightly cooler temperatures this weekend helped make for an enjoyable day.

For more photos of the horse show, see the July 29 print or e-edition of Walworth County Sunday.
