Police: Genoa City drug house raid nets four arrests

GENOA CITY — Four people are facing heroin charges in connection with what police describe as a heroin distribution center operating out of a Genoa City house.

Genoa City Police Chief Joe Balog said several drug-related items were taken from the house at 314 Southeastern Court following the execution of a search warrant July 10.

Arrested that same day were:

-- Marjorie A. Woods, 60, of 314 Southeastern Court, on charges of keeping a drug trafficking place and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Eric C. Erickson, 27, of 314 Southeastern Court, on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Philip M. Sepke, 36, of 408 Oak Grove Circle, Wauconda, Ill., on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Shannon L. Swanson, 30, of 518 Deer Path, McHenry, Ill., on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Erickson, Sepke and Swanson appeared in Walworth County Court Wednesday. Woods has yet to make a court appearance.

Genoa City officers reported finding a substance that tested positive for heroin the house owned by Woods and occupied by Woods, Erickson, Sepke and Swanson.

Swanson told officers she shares a bedroom with Sepke and they both use heroin in the room, according to the criminal complaint. Swanson said she accompanied Sepke and Erickson to Chicago to purchase heroin, Sepke and Erickson sold heroin from the house and "drive it around," according to the complaint.

Included on the list of items take from the residence are:

-- Several capsules containing heroin.

-- Metal containers for cooking heroin.

-- Several syringes, sponges, cotton balls, razor blades and a tourniquet.

-- Naloxone, a drug used to reverse the effects of a heroin overdose.
