South Shore Days coming to East Troy Railroad
EAST TROY The East Troy Electric Railroad will celebrate the historic Pullman-built cards of the famed Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad during South Shore Days, July 28-29, in East Troy.
The cars will be on display and ferry passengers from the railroad’s historic depot and museum to the turn-of the-century-styled terminal at the renowned Elegant Farmer. The cars feature what were the last words in luxury of their day, from frosted-glass pendant light fixtures and arching steel-panel ceilings to leatherette semi-bucket seats, mounted on swivel pedestals to allow forward-facing seating.
