Update: Teen struck and killed by train in Mukwonago
MUKWONAGO Update: A 17-year-old boy was struck and killed by a southbound freight train early Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies and East Troy Fire and Rescue units responded to the call at 5:11 a.m. on the Canada National Rail Line, which runs between I-43 and County Highway L in the village of Mukwonago. The accident took place just north of the railroad crossing on County Highway L near Stone School Road.
The boy's identification is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The accident investigation remains open and ongoing.
