Pruess announces run for Walworth County register of deeds

— Donna Pruess formally announced her candidacy for Walworth County register of deeds, and will be on the ballot for the Aug. 14 primary election.

Pruess is the Walworth County real property lister, keeping ownership, assessment and tax information for over 65,000 parcels in Walworth County.

A Walworth County employee since November 1980, Pruess was an assistant real property lister for six years and worked in the county surveyors office for three years until she became the real property lister in 1989.

Pruess has been a member of the Wisconsin Real Property Listers Association since 1989 and also is on the Matheson Memorial Library's board of trustees.

Pruess is a lifelong resident of Elkhorn, where she lives with her husband.

Three other candidates are running for the position of Walworth County register of deeds: Bob Kordus of Lake Geneva, Toni Loftus of Elkhorn, and Sue Finster of Elkhorn.
