Smash 'em up: demo derby at Walworth County Fairgrounds

ELKHORN The annual demolition derby will take place this year on Labor Day, Sept. 3, during the Walworth County Fair. The cost is $25 to register.

The prize purse this year has been raised by $3,000, providing a grand total of $6,000 in prize money.
There will be three demolition derby shows throughout the day. There is a new stock class along with new rules this year.
Also new this year, each show will cost $3 per person per show. The grandstand will be emptied between each show. No personal items may be left to reserve seats. This change has been added to ensure that every fairgoer has a chance to enjoy the show.
Wristbands are now on sale at the fair office at 411 Court St. in Elkhorn. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Walworth County Fair promotes the county and communities’ traditions, talents, diversity, vision and agricultural heritage in a secure and fiscally responsible way. The organization promotes youth education through exhibits and competitions in 4-H, FFA and open class.
