Rep. Evan Wynn recently took part in the Wisconsin Dental Association and WDA Foundation's Mission of Mercy charitable dental clinic, held June 28-29 at the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
During the two-day event, more than 1,000 volunteers, including dentists, hygienists, assistants and others, provided $1.75 million in oral health care to 3.043 children and adults during 3,595 patient visits, according to a WDA news release.
Mission of Mercy serves to spotlight the barriers to oral health care faced by many Wisconsin residents, and encourages the dental community and state legislators to work cooperatively to address them. Mission of Mercy 2012 was the largest charitable dental clinic in the United States.
