More crisis calls reported in McHenry County with agency’s closure
MCHENRY COUNTY, ILL. Calls to McHenry county’s crisis lines are on the rise, coinciding with the closure June 30 of Family Service and Community Mental Health Center, according to a story in the Northwest Herald.
The county’s crisis lines average about 325 calls per month, but in June logged 1,650 crisis calls, said the manager of the McHenry County Crisis Program.
In addition to the number of calls on the rise, the types of calls counselors are getting are more critical.
Other local and regional mental health care providers have been trying to help since Family Service closed because of financial problems.
