— A special Town of Mukwonago residents meeting is slated for Jan. 31 at the Mukwonago Town Hall to vote to approve the purchase of a 1-acre piece of farm property that would be used in a drainage project to alleviate flooding problems in the Country Bliss Estates subdivision.

As noted on the Country Bliss Homes Association website, the approval vote from town residents is necessary for the town to purchase the property, which will serve as a basin to control flooding.

According to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story by reporter Mike Johnson, if residents vote no on the property, the project will probably die and a $506,000 state grant that would help finance the project would need to be returned.

The total cost of the project has not yet been determined, however, since town officials wanted to see whether the land purchase would be approved by residents.
