Large loads of equipment will be rolling out of Professional Power Products, Inc., in Darien later this week and heading for the Port of Milwaukee.

A spokesperson for PPPI, a national designer and manufacturer of power equipment, said the order for an outdoor fire-rated diesel generator set enclosure module is the largest order to date for the company. The custom modules, made in conjunction with Caterpillar, were built and designed in their 133,000-square foot craned facility in Darien.

From Milwaukee, the modules will be exported to Singapore, to be set on an offshore drilling rig. After the rig is complete, the entire rig will float to Brazil, where it will be used by Petrobras off the South American coast.

PPPI has operational branches in Pennsylvania and California, but its corporate headquarters are based at 448 W. Madison St., Darien.
