Gateway planning program expansion in Elkhorn
ELKHORN Gateway Technical College is proposing a $49-million capital projects package that would expand its facilities and programs, including a new veterinary technician lab, a cosmetology lab and a culinary arts lab at the Elkhorn campus, according to a story in the Milwaukee Business Journal.
The Elkhorn projects, which also include expanding the site’s current welding lab and adding an automated manufacturing lab, would total $13.5 million.
Jayne Herring, Gateway’s marketing director, said the projects planned in the expansion, such as the new culinary lab at Elkhorn, are in response to what area manufacturers are looking for.

Are manufacturers looking for culinary skills?
I hope they just teach the skills needed for other jobs without all the BS (social studies, literature, history etc.). This use to be a technical institute now it's trying to compete with UW Whitewater but with no citizens controlling the purse strings.
