Milton sets pay for interim superintendent

MILTON — The Milton School District interim superintendent will receive $20,000 on top of her $89,300 annual pay as principal at Milton West and Consolidated elementary schools, according to a news release from the school district.
Theresa Rusch was appointed interim superintendent after superintendent Mike Garrow went on a paid leave for the rest of the school year. He has agreed to resign June 30.
Rusch was appointed interim superintendent from Nov. 30 through June 30.
Garrow will receive full pay and benefits until June 30. The Milton School Board agreed to provide Garrow with a $35,000 severance payment in addition to his salary and benefits during his leave. Garrow is paid $122,000 a year.
Garrow's resignation followed a board investigation into complaints that he "inappropriately" fraternized with district staff during social gatherings and used a school computer to access a "possibly inappropriate" picture of a woman whom Garrow says he knows.
Garrow denied any inappropriate behavior. He said he had reached a mutual agreement with the board regarding his leave and resignation.
