Whitewater boys earn first victory

Whitewater High's boys basketball team found the victory column Tuesday night.

Brett Harms scored 19 points and Paul Pelayo added 11 as the Whippets pulled away from Evansville for a 50-41 win.

Whitewater, which started the season 0-8, saw its lead cut to two midway through the fourth but Pelayo scored five points down the stretch to preserve the win.

Owen Schoenenberger had 12 points to lead Evansville.

-- McFarland 67, Edgerton 51—Brandon Doll scored 21 points to lead the visiting Spartans to the Rock Valley North win.

Edgerton, which got 16 points from James Fox, trailed by six at half but was outscored 40-30 in the second half.

Brett Prahl scored a game-high 26 points, Nate Dodge added 24, Alex Prahl had 16 and Justin Growel scored 11 points for East Troy. The Trojans made 26 of 60 free throws.

Clayton Morrison scored 24 points for Jefferson and Marcus Ott added 20 points.

Clinton (4-2), behind 17 points from Cody Risseeuw, remained in first place in the Rock Valley South.

Alex Kelly had 12 points to lead Palmyra-Eagle.

Griffin Day's 13 points led Brodhead.
