Evansville boys hold off Parkview

Free throws carried Evansville High's boys basketball team to victory Thursday night.

The visiting Blue Devils sank nine free throws in the fourth quarter in holding off Orfordville Parkview, 54-46, in a Rock Valley Conference crossover game.

Parkview (1-7, 1-2) trailed by 10 after one quarter but eventually cut the lead to two midway through the fourth quarter.

Owen Schoenenberger and Matt Sperry combined to score 29 points for Evansville.

Parkview's Jameson Lavery led all scorers with 16 points.

Nate Freytag scored 18 points for Big Foot (2-3, 2-2), while his brother, Dylan, added 16 points.

James Fox and Brennan Deegan had nine points each to lead Edgerton.

Alex Kelly had a game-high 14 points for Palmyra-Eagle.
