Marshall survives battle against Lakeside Lutheran

A big first quarter carried Marshall to a win in a battle of Capitol Conference boys basketball heavyweights Tuesday night.

Cam Ward scored 25 points and the Cardinals opened up a 26-5 lead after one quarter in a 77-74 win over Lakeside Lutheran in a crossover game.

Lakeside's Jason Eternick led all scorers with 27 points.

-- Monona Grove 57, Delavan-Darien 51—Tyler Blang led four players in double figures as the Silver Eagles pulled away for the nonconference win.

Steven Rodriguez had 13 points to lead the Comets.
