Lake Geneva Police investigate bomb threat report
LAKE GENEVA Lake Geneva Police are investigating a bomb threat made at a local hotel and restaurant Friday.
According to a press release from the Lake Geneva Police Department, officers were alerted to the threat by the Walworth County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center Friday afternoon. The dispatch center reported a male caller who said bombs were at the Cove, 111 Center St., in Lake Geneva, and at the Grand Geneva Resort, located just outside city limits.
Lake Geneva Police officers responded to the Cove, where managers there and in the adjoining Sprecher's Restaurant evacuated patrons.
Lake Geneva police officers, assisted by the Lake Geneva Fire Department, searched both restaurants, but found nothing suspicious.
The Walworth County Sheriff's Office investigated the bomb threat in the Grand Geneva, but reported nothing suspicious.
The bomb threats were called in on Aug. 24, the same day a bank robbery occurred in Sugar Creek.
