Janesville shines at state bocce ball

The High Rollers of Janesville took first place at the Special Olympics state bocce ball tournament held recently in Eau Claire.

A group of 25 athletes representing the Janesville Special Olympics qualified for the state tournament.

The High Rollers were Loren Brooks, Marie Hartung, Jordan Lopez and Brittany Peterson.

Earning second places for Janesville were: the Badgers' Mitch Eddy, Kelly Fogtman, Jeffrey Lane, Norma Ryan and Travis Bauer. The Rock County Chiefs' Jeffery Miller, Jacki Quade and Christopher Wilson.

Also for Janesville, Mila Holcombe, David Mendrzycki, Janelle Parrish, and Diane Pateros of the 5 Stooges took third place. Kathryn Brandsey, Kay Deegan, Jennifer Douglas and LaVonne Kettle of the Wild Rollers earned fourth place.
