Craig, Parker soccer shut out
MADISON Craig High lost 4-0 to host Madison West on Thursday in a Big Eight Conference boys soccer opener.
Craig is 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the Big Eight.
The Regents scored an unassisted goal three minutes into the first half en route to a 3-0 lead.
"It was not a good way to start," Craig coach Charlie Friedrich said of West's early first goal. "West started 10 seniors and a junior that started last year. They are a strong team."
The Cougars travel to Green Bay West for a 4:30 p.m. match today. Craig plays Saturday at Sheboygan South.

Parker falls
Parker High goalkeeper John Fillion made 25 saves but it wasn't enough to stop visiting perennial powerhouse Madison Memorial from posting a 5-0 victory Thursday in a Big Eight Conference boys soccer opener.
"John did a fantastic job," Parker coach Andy Holmes said. "The Memorial coach said it was one of the best keeper performances he'd ever seen."
Trailing 2-0 after the first half, Parker held the Spartans scoreless until Memorial scored three goals between 71:23 and 76:41 of the second half.
"We decided to play them straight up," Holmes said. "Of course, that posed a threat for a counter attack."
Parker plays in a quadrangular tournament Saturday against Racine Case and Racine Park in Racine.
