Officials: Worker injured in fall at Rock Haven

JANESVILLE — A worker was hospitalized after falling down a ventilation shaft at a construction site in Janesville Wednesday morning, officials say.
The Janesville Fire Department was called to the construction site of the future Rock Haven nursing home at 3418 N. County F, Janesville, at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday for a man who had fallen, Rock County 911 reported.
Workers were working to cover a 16-foot deep concrete ventilation shaft when a man fell into the shaft and suffered undisclosed injuries, a Janesville Fire Department official said.
The worker, whose identity has not been released, was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, according to the fire department.
Officials at Mercy did not disclose the worker's condition Wednesday night.
