Snappers win fifth in a row
DAVENPORT, IA The visiting Beloit Snappers rolled to their fifth straight win Thursday with an 8-3 victory over the Quad Cities River Bandits in Midwest League baseball.
Beloit rolled to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and held a 7-0 lead after four innings.
Beloit starter Jason Wheeler gave up one run in five innings for the victory. Kennys Vargas and Stephen Wickens drove in two runs apiece.
The Snappers conclude the series with the River Bandits tonight.
