-- ELEANORA H. BERGENDAL, 29, of 2006 N. Wright Road, Janesville, at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday at 900 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, on a bench warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on previous Janesville police charges of fleeing and recklessly endangering safety.
-- TAYLOR C. WHEELER, 24, of 812 Randall Ave., Janesville, at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday at home on a charge of felony theft. He is accused of stealing a guitar valued at $2,800 and pawning it, according to a police report.
-- A 16-YEAR-OLD JANESVILLE BOY at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday at 709 S. Jackson St., was referred to juvenile authorities on a charge of operating a vehicle without owner's consent.
Intoxicated driving arrests
-- BRADLEY A. SMITH, 47, of 1105 Monterrey Lane, Janesville, at 12:22 a.m. Thursday at Milwaukee Street and Randall Avenue, Janesville. Smith also was cited for possession of marijuana, second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
-- STEVEN B. WENCEL, 61, of 6570 N. Oakridge Road, Evansville, at 8:28 p.m. Aug. 1 on Highway 14 east of Tuttle Road.

-- FORGERY AND OBTAINING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE BY FRAUD reported at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday at Target, 2017 Humes Road, Janesville. A woman attempted to acquire a quantity of Focalin by passing a forged prescription.
-- ATTEMPTED BURGLARY reported at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Sons of Norway Lodge, 418 W. Milwaukee St., Janesville.
Fires
-- LIGHTNING STRIKE to a home at 6116 W. Burrwood Drive, Janesville, at 1:47 p.m. Thursday. The strike to a second-floor sidewall went inside one of the wall studs but did not result in a fire. Janesville firefighters responded to check for smoldering in the wall. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
