— Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper called Gov. Scott Walker to talk about Sunday’s shootings at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee that left seven people dead including the gunman.

Walker’s sppkesman Cullen Werwie says Hickenlooper called Walker on Wednesday. Werwie says Hickenlooper encouraged Walker to stay focused on offering support to the families of the victims and ensuring they have everything they need.

Werwie says Walker had called Hickenlooper the day after a gungman killed 12 and injured 38 at an Aurora, Colo., movie theater last week.

Although Hickenlooper is a Democrat and Walker is a Republican, Werwie says they are close and have worked together in the past.

Walker has attended two vigils in the wake of the shootings and Werwie says he plans to go to the funerals.
