— A rural Beloit man faces felony charges as a result of a $20,000 marijuana seizure in June in southern Rock County.

James B. Talidis, 40, of 5801 Colley Road, Beloit, is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug-trafficking place.

An arrest warrant for Talidis was issued at the same time the charges were filed. Talidis is in custody at the Winnebago County Jail, Rockford, Ill., on separate charges, Rock County Sheriff's Office Capt. Todd Christiansen said.

No one was living at the home when police executed a search warrant in June. In addition to an indoor marijuana growing operation that included potting soil, chemicals, lights and instructional literature, the house contained other personal belongings, Christiansen said.

Police also found marijuana that was processed and packaged, he said.
