Kedzie tapped for committee on dementia issues
MADISON State Sen. Neal Kedzie, R-La Grange Township, has been appointed to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Special Committee on Legal Interventions for Persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias.
The committee is directed “to review and develop legislation to clarify the statutes regarding guardianship, protective placement, involuntary commitment and involuntary treatment as they apply to vulnerable adults with a dementia diagnosis … ” according to a news release from Kedzie’s office.
Study committees are established by the Joint Legislative Council to examine major issues and problems identified by the Legislature. The committees are made up of legislators and citizens who are interested in or knowledgeable about the study topic.
“It is an honor to be selected to serve on this special study committee, and I look forward to working with other committee members for the benefit of people with Alzheimer’s and their families,” Kedzie said in the release.
