Delavan-Darien School Board picks interim superintendent
DELAVAN The Delavan-Darien School Board voted in an open session Thursday night to offer Robert Crist a one-year contract as interim superintendent of the Delavan-Darien School District.
Crist's contract would begin August 9 and end June 30, said school board President Jeffrey Scherer.
Crist was director of human resources and later superintendent of Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools until he retired in 2010, according to a May 2011 biography of Crist on the Marshfield Clinic website. Crist served on the clinic's security health plan board.
Scherer cited Crist's "breadth and depth of experience" as a reason for his hiring.
"He was a high school principal at several different places and had been a (school) district administrator for long time," Scherer said. "We wanted someone that had been there and done that and wouldn't have to learn on the job."
