Farmers market vouchers available in Walworth County

— Low-income seniors in Walworth County are eligible to receive vouchers for products sold at area farmers markets.

The Walworth County Nutrition Program for Older Adults sponsors the offering, which will make vouchers available to 260 senior households this year, according to a news release.

Seniors can receive $25 per household. To be eligible, recipients must be Walworth County residents at least 60 years of age, and earning $1,679 or less monthly for one-person households and $2,268 for two-person households.

Vouchers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. They will be given out from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays beginning June 28 at the Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services.

They also will be available:

-- Tuesday, June 28—1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Gilbert Court Apartments, 323 W. Court St., Elkhorn.

-- Tuesday, June 28—1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Havenwood Apartments, 250 Havenwood Drive, Lake Geneva.

-- Tuesday, June 28—1 to 2 p.m. at Woodview Park Apartments, 353 Tyrell Court, Delavan.

-- Tuesday, June 28—1 to 2 p.m. at Blackhawk Manor Apartments, 1155 Blackhawk Drive, Whitewater.

-- Wednesday, June 29—1 to 2 p.m. at Jackson Creek Apartments, 209 Grant St., Elkhorn.

-- Wednesday, June 29—1 to 2 p.m. at Geneva Hills Apartments, 1385 Elkhorn Road, Lake Geneva.

-- Wednesday, June 29—1 to 2 p.m. at Lake Comus Apartments, 207 McDowell St., Delavan.

-- Wednesday, June 29—1 to 2 p.m. at Brookdale Manor, 1061 Blackhawk Drive, Whitewater.

-- Thursday, June 30—Noon to 1 p.m. at Bloomfield Town Hall, 1100 Town Hall Road, Bloomfield.

-- Friday, July 1—1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Village Square Apartments, 204 Madison St., Walworth.

Proxy vouchers are available for homebound seniors unable to attend. For more information, call (262) 741-3157.
