— Milwaukee County authorities say an Elkhorn inmate has committed suicide at a county correctional facility.

The sheriff’s office released a statement Tuesday saying the suicide occurred earlier that morning.

Deputies say rescue personnel declared 41-year-old Paul J. Heytens dead at 7 a.m.

He was admitted to the correctional facility Thursday on charges of fifth-offense drunken driving and a probation violation for felony bail jumping. He was being held on $10,000 cash bail.

It wasn’t immediately clear how he died. The sheriff’s office says no further information will be released until an autopsy is completed.
