— Connecting farmers to local consumers is the focus of the 2012 Wisconsin Local Food Summit to be held at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan Jan. 26-27.

The sixth annual summit, sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Local Foods Network, invites community organizers, educators, local farmers and others to look at issues ranging from food safety to the environment. Topics at the 2012 agenda include starting neighborhood local food markets, new urban agriculture opportunities, and the effects of the Farm Bill on producers and consumers. A lunch featuring locally-grown foods will be served.

A special one-day program highlighting the efforts of the Farm to School program in Wisconsin, which brings local produce into school cafeterias, will be held Jan. 25, also at Lake Lawn.

An agenda and more information on the summit is HERE.
