— The Riverside Drive/U.S. Highway 51 reconstruction project is 60 percent to 70 percent complete, Beloit city engineer Mike Flesch said Tuesday.

Crews are working on the bike paths and parking areas in and around Riverside Park, and trying to complete the second of four phases involving the Henry Avenue intersection. Concrete work in northbound and southbound lanes is done.

The target date to complete the $3.3 million project remains Nov. 30.

“The project has gone extremely well up to this point,” said Beloit City Manager Larry Arft. “They established an aggressive timeline, and they anticipate meeting their completion deadline or get done maybe a little early, so we’re hoping to hold a ribbon cutting at the end of November.”
