Meetings MidAmerica magazine announced Thursday that The Abbey Resort & Spa in Fontana and the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva have been named Best of MidAmerica properties.

The Walworth County resorts are two of only 50 properties in the Midwest to receive this distinctive award.

The magazine's readers were asked to select their favorite properties based on several factors including quality of meeting space, guest rooms, staff, service, food and beverage, amenities, activities and value. The readers are primarily top meeting planners across the country.

"We're honored to receive this award, especially considering the steep competition in the Midwest," David Lindelow, general manager at The Abbey Resort, was quoted as saying in a news release. "We strive to provide the best service and value for our groups, including corporate, nonprofit, associations and faith organizations. We are very fortunate to have an incredible venue with our lakeside location and offer competitive group rates and packages to make our breathtaking property even more attractive."
